Ponieważ jest to rasa krótkowłosa, wystarczy wyczesywać go mniej więcej 0 razy na rok. Wychowany Cerber będzie mył się jak kot (tylko szybciej, bo co <s>dwie</s> trzy głowy, to nie jedna). Te mniej wychowane będą kąpać się w błocie, a czasami w odchodach (niekoniecznie swoich). Niestety, na ich kłach (we wszystkich głowach) osadza się paskudny kamień nazębny i trzeba co tydzień myć Cerberowi ząbki specjalną szczotką. Tylko należy uważać, żeby nie zjadł cię podczas mycia i nie zżarł ci szczoteczki. Zwróć szczególną uwagę także na trująco-żrące wyziewy z jego paszcz.

Jeśli mieszkasz w bloku, zapomnij o hodowaniu jakiegokolwiek Cerbera. Lepiej zajmij się Shih-tzu. Musisz mieć duży dom, duże drzwi i duży ogród. No i mało rzeczy, które twój pupil mógłby zjeść lub zbić (wazony, porcelana, itp.). Cerber lubi duże czerwone piłki.

Psy tej rasy głównie pilnowały posiadłości Hadesa. Były one gratką dla innych hodowców, dlatego też często dochodziło do prób kradzieży. Jednak mało kto był w stanie ukraść takowego pieska. Udało się to tylko [[Herakles]]owi. Głośna była też akcja z [[Orfeusz]]em, który uspokoił psa graniem na swojej harfie.
