A tooth (plural teeth) is a small, calcified, whitish structure ground in the jaws (or mouths) of various vertebrates and habituated to to defeat down food. Some animals, strikingly carnivores, also partake of teeth for hunting or for defensive purposes. The roots of teeth are covered nearby gums.
